Building Community Together: RenewAll 2024 Volunteer Highlights

Last Updated 1/10/2025

RenewAll has continued to connect residents and community members to the Central City District through meaningful volunteerism. This year, we expanded our efforts by introducing new volunteer initiatives and partnering with other local organizations to host engaging events. In 2024, our volunteers completed an impressive 141 hours of service across five events. Here’s a recap of how we worked with our incredible volunteers in 2024!

Earth & Culture Day

We kicked off the year with this vibrant event, welcoming volunteers from Target HR and Huntington Addiction Wellness Center (HAWC). These volunteers assisted with event preparation and manned tables throughout the day. We also collaborated with the Appalachian ReUse Hub to secure additional support from the Cabell Huntington Solid Waste Authority and local schools, including Cabell Midland High School and the Marshall Sustainability Club, to boost our recycling efforts.

National Historic Marker Day

HAWC volunteers returned for the second year in a row to help us celebrate National Historic Marker Day. Together, we cleaned and restored our local historic marker, ensuring it remains a welcoming sight for visitors year-round. A special thanks to Car Stop Pre-Owned Autos for generously providing water access to complete this project!

Annual Spring Planting

In May, RenewAll organized volunteers from HAWC, Huntington Rotary, and Joe’s Lounge joined forces to beautify the Central City District. Their efforts included planting flowers, landscaping, and cleaning up trash. A special thank you and shout out to Joe’s Lounge for the donation of flowers and dirt, adding more vibrancy to our area!

Fall & Winter Community Clean-Ups

CLeanUpWinter
To close out the year, we hosted seasonal clean-ups that went beyond simple trash collection. Volunteers tackled landscaping, maintained flower beds, and provided invaluable assistance to small business owners in the district. We’re grateful to HAWC and the West Huntington Organization for their steadfast support during these community events.

Looking Ahead to 2025

We’re excited to carry this momentum into 2025! RenewAll will continue hosting annual events, including:

  • Earth & Culture Day

  • National Historic Marker Day

  • Annual Spring Planting

  • Fall & Winter Community Clean-Ups
